From 19 to 21 July 2024

The Walk Du Grand Ballon is a 1, 2 or 3 day(s) hike through the most beautiful sites in the Vosges Mountains. The 5th edition will take place again in 2024. Each day you will discover a new part of the Vosges mountains. Three days of hiking with extensive supply stations!

This year, you also have the opportunity to walk only on weekends, or to choose a single hike on Saturday or Sunday.

COURSES

Better strap on your hiking boots, the terrain is tough and you will need a minimum of grip. The Vosges is a mid-mountain range and you will hike between 800 and 1400m of altitude. The weather can be very variable and suddenly change from 35° to 5°

Saturday 20.07

PRACTICAL INFORMATION

Each day begins and ends at Le Markstein.
Days 1 and 2 are spent at the Hotel Wolf, near the centre of Markstein.
On day 3, we move to the Auberge du Steinlebach, 1.5 km from the centre of Markstein.
Please note that there is no parking at the Auberge.

On day 1 and 2, it is best to park in the centre of Markstein on the large gravel car park.
On day 3, park at the Hotel Wolf and walk to the Steinlebach.

Each participant receives ALL the GPX files one week before the event.
Courses are indicated so you'll have to use the GPX-files all the time.
Please respect the start time of your distance as the opening hours of our refreshment points are based on the start times.

Water, isotonic drinks, coca-cola, Etixx energy bars, sandwiches, sweet and savoury snacks and other goodies will be available at the refreshment points.

No changing rooms are provided

Showers are provided at Auberge du Steinlebach in Le Markstein.
This service is free of charge.

This is a charity event. We're raising funds for THINK PINK.
You can make a one-off donation starting from €5,00 during your registration or choose to create a personal fundraising page, which you will send to friends and family (individually or in groups).
