If you want to cancel your registration, you can do it all by yourself. How much you get in return in the form of online credits (voucher) depends on when you cancel and whether you have taken a cancellation insurance or not.

You cannot take part yourself and would you like to transfer or sell your registration to someone else? Then you can do it yourself online via SQM Time. You can give your registration to someone else for free or sell it and receive credits on your account.

You will find below the steps to follow to transfer your registration to an event.

STEP 1

Log in to your SQM Time account and click on ‘Order history’. Registrations are grouped by year according to the date of registration and not the date of the event!

STEP 2

Behind the registration you wish to transfer/sell, click on the eye (« View »).

STEP 3

You can now update the participant in the window below. To do this, click on the symbol with the 2 arrows under ‘Participant’ behind your name.

STEP 4

A popup window will allow you to choose how you wish to transfer your registration.

A. Assign to someone already in your contact list (free)

B. Assign to someone who is not in your contact liste (free)

C. Invite someone to take over this registration (SELL TICKET)

With options A and B, the registration remains in your profile (you're still the only one who can make adjustments), but it's in someone else's name. With option C, you sell the registration to someone else and it is transferred to their profile (you no longer have anything to do with it). You can also see until when a registration can be transferred.

STEP 5a

If you choose to transfer using option A or B, you can select another participant from your contact list. If the participant is not already in your contact list, click on ‘Add a participant to your contact list’. Once you have filled in the details, select the participant and click on the ‘Edit’ icon.

STEP 5b

Would you like the registration to be moved from your SQM time profile to the new participant's SQM time profile? Then select option C. Here you can choose a percentage of the total amount, including options, that you want the new participant to pay. Then enter the e-mail address. The new participant will receive an e-mail with a link enabling them to confirm the new registration and make a payment via SQM Time.

The purchase price will be added to your credit account.

It is also possible to make a payment without SQM Time, please choose 0% as payment via SQM Time and organise the payment with each other. This is at your own risk, SQM Time is not responsible if the buyer does not pay correctly.

As from 1 April 2024, the Fédération Française d'Athlétisme has introduced its Parcours Prévention Santé (PPS), a system that replaces the traditional medical certificate of eligibility for all adults:you don't need to go to the doctor anymore !

As of January 15th, 2026, the PPS (Parcours Prévention Santé) will evolve in France. It is essential that you comply with the new requirements in order to register for the two Trail du Grand Ballon races, organized in April and July!

The PPS in a nutshell:

For non-FFA licensed runners, the PPS:

• is mandatory
• becomes paid (≈ €5 / year)
• is now valid for 1 year (instead of 3 months)

What does this mean for the Trail du Grand Ballon – April & July 2026?

• A valid PPS will be mandatory at registration
• One single PPS can cover multiple races during 2026
• The PPS still replaces the medical certificate

Participants with a French licence (issued by the French Athletics Federation (FFA))*, who already had to take the health prevention course when obtaining their licence, will be exempted from these PPS procedures for each competition, as it was already the case in the past with the system of medical certificates.

Concretely this means that you can choose between: 

• • uploading your valid French athletics licence on sqmtime.com

• • uploading your valid PPS certificate via sqmtime.com

Go to the website https://pps.athle.fr – fill in all the details and watch the videos. Then you can download the PPS.
Then you still need to upload it in your SQM account.

The compulsory material varies by distance and also depends on weather conditions.

You can find the compulsory material in the accordion of your distance/course you want to run.

The race can be followed live on SQM Time.

There are several checkpoints and intermediate points on the way. Every time a runner reaches such a point, you can follow it online in real-time. For example, for the 70km there are 7 checkpoints

Dogs are allowed only on a leash. Please do not obstruct other runners.
Those running with a dog are not eligible for any podium

Advice - book your accommodation early to avoid any disappointments

Every year, big groups are on the starting line of the Trail our Marathon du Grand Ballon.

Through the group module, a responsible creates the group. When doing so, he creates a unique code and shares this code with everyone who wants to join. When the group is complete, the person in charge closes the group and pays online.

The Trail du Grand Ballon (late April ) is up to its 9th edition. Three times we were able to enjoy a layer(s) of snow. The temperature can fluctuate between -5° and 20°...

Even with snow, the trail goes on as usual and the start and finish is always accessible via 2 access roads.

During the Marathon du Grand Ballon (Sept ), the chance of snow is as good as zero.

The cut-off time varies according to the distance. All aid stations have a closing time. if you arrive AFTER this time, you will be led to the finish through a shortcut.

You can find the times in the accordion of the distance/course you want to run.

If you paid online and saw the message ‘you are registered with success’ online just after payment you are registered. Normally you will receive another e-mail about this, but sometimes it may not arrive. In that case we can NOT resend it. You can always check online via this link if in doubt

The briefing will be send one week before the event (mostly on Monday).

UTMB –You have successfully finished our trail and your result is not (yet) on the UTMB site. Please be patient.

We ALWAYS provide results 1 week after the event. This gives us time to correct any wrongful DNFs. Then we upload the results into the UTMB system and it takes at least 2 weeks for UTMB to process them. So your results will only be visible in your index 3-4 weeks after your participation.

ITRA – Unfortunately, we no longer send our event results to ITRA.

You had an accident during a trail, a raid, or a walk. First, check out if you took an accident insurance as a paid option at the time of your registration. You can verify this in your confirmation email or by logging into your account through this page and checking it there. If you DID NOT take out insurance, we cannot assist you. If you did, download this declaration form from Sporta, fill it out and send it back within 8 days.
